Here is an overview of KHiB's workshops and special facilities

Photostudios in Vaskerelven 8
Technician: Bjarte Bjørkum
The photo workshops include a film processing room, darkrooms (colour/black and white), photo studio and computer lab. Technician Bjarte Bjørkum provides training in how to use the various equipment. You can also buy
film, photo paper and photographic prints from him. Bjarte is available Monday - Thursday at 9 am - 3.30 pm.
Printmaking workshop in Vaskerelven 8
Technician: Odd Melseth
The workshop, located on the ground floor, is equipped with 2 gravure presses with work stations, lithographic hand press for stone lithography, stone grinding area, corrosive area, 2 silkscreen tables and high pressure presses. The technician sells paper, ink, copper, wood panels for woodcuts and other printmaking equipment, and is available Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm.

Textiles workshop in Marken 37
Technician: Signe Halle
The technician has her office on the 2nd floor. She runs the lab for fabric printing, fabric stock, looms, yarn stock, finishing room with sewing machines, colour studio, dye studio, wetrooms, darkroom and emulsion room. Signe will assist students with:
- technical guidance on machines and tools
- training in safety procedures
- sale of fabric, yarn, colour and chemicals
- lending of equipment

Ceramics and clay workshops in Strømgaten 1
Technician: Erik Lytskjold
The ceramics and clay workshops are located in the basement of the building. The workshops include plaster and glaze studios, sandblasting cabinet, drying room and project rooms. A furnace house is located in the backyard. The technician  is responsible for technical guidance and training in safety and order procedures. Only trained students are allowed to use the workshops. Erik sells clay and plaster, and lends tools. He also organises reservations of workshops and equipment. Erik is present from Monday to Thursday at 8.30 am - 2 pm.
Wood and metal workshop in Marken 37
Technicians: Øivind Eide (wood workshop)
Svein Orrbakken (metal workshop)
The two workshops are located side by side on the ground floor. The wood workshop contains basic machinery, and the technician assists with process, technique and guidance in how to use the materials. The metal workshop
contains equipment for basic tasks. Courses in use of the workshops are mandatory for access.

Wood and metal workshop in C. Sundts gate 53+55
Technician: Kristian Skjold
The technician operates the paint and cast rooms, and the wood and metal workshops. He assists the students with:
- technical guidance
- practical exercises in and outside the workshops
- sale of materials (wood, metal, canvas, wax, varnish, glue) and lending of tools Monday/Thursday 1.30-2 pm.
- signing out keys (project rooms and locker keys) Mondays at 11 am - 12 noon
- organising of studio spaces in the building
- training in safety procedures
Kristian's office is located on the ground floor, and he works from 7.30 am to 3 pm.
Datalab, sound studio, video studio og showroom in C. Sundts gate 53+55
Technician: Mattias Arvastsson
The studios are equipped with Mac computers.The technician  assists the students in these rooms. Mattias' office is located next to the computer lab on the 2nd floor.
Data labs in Kong Oscars gate 62
Technicians: Kate Madsen and Torkell Bernsen
The computer lab on the 1st floor has computers with software including CS6 suite, After Effects, Final Cut and 3D application Cinema4D. The animation lab has green-screen room, lighting rig and camera. Assistant Professor Kate Madsen is the contact for the computer lab, while Associate Professor Torkell Bernsen is in charge of the video/animation lab.
