Galleri Bokboden - Ingrid Skåland Eriksen “In a sensuous state”
Shadows, surfaces, light and movement in still objects. Ingrid Skåland Eriksen sees potential in materials than are given up on and left alone. Eriksen tries to transform even simple material like wrapping into something that comes alive and are liberated from their original meaning.
From an early age wandering alone in the deep forests of Telemark, where her fantasy gave life to everything around her, longing for mysteries, she evolved a sense of animism that became important in order to believe that everything has a secret energy.
Ingrid Skåland Eriksen, born in Lunde, Norway in 1982, is in her second year Bachelor studies in Fine Art at Bergen Academy of Art and Design. For many years she was a cat governess and a lonely weaver in a little village.
