MA seminar in Fine Art 2013: "Something is at stake"

How do discursive environments affect the way in which knowledge is produced and transferred and in what way do they impact the manner in which practices are performed and subjectivities shaped?

There are norms, standards and formats dominating the scene of knowledge production and transfer today - what are the alternatives?

Invited guests will be catalysts in a situation of heightened discursivity, they will pose questions of importance to themselves and their practice as points of departure for wider discussion. By proposing a flat and unstable scenario in which all gathered have the opportunity to speak, the intention is to invert the traditional and less-discursive format of presenter/audience. Such a situation depends on those present voicing and listening to what they and others care about and how this offers understanding of different ways of thinking.
