Artistic Research and Development

Pedro Gómez-Egaña conducts his Viva Voce in artistic research
Research Fellow Pedro Gómez-Egaña conducts his Viva Voce on the project "Calligraphies". His artistic research is motivated by the importance of time in cultural definitions of disaster, anxiety, and alert, whilst resisting the dynamics of shock found in media culture. The result is a work that is ghostly and playful, and that ranges from elaborate theatrical productions with carefully devised viewing conditions, to performative video pieces.

The Viva Voce marks the final stage of the three years as Research Fellow in the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme. At the basis for Gómez- Egaña's is the exhibition "En abyme" which was shown in Bergen in 2011 and a written part with reflections on the process, methods, artistic choices and results.

Time: 23 October 2012 from 5 to 8 pm
Venue: Bryggens Museum, Bergen, the Auditorium
The viva voce is open to everyone.
